The book fair will be open. There will be tons of games and fun for everyone! Students will get to make and take their own math/science toolbox.
The Nexton Development Team has informed us that a turning lane will be installed on the southbound side of Nexton Parkway at Scholar Way, leading into the One Nexton Apartments. They have assured us that they will not schedule road closures during school pickup or drop-off times and do not anticipate any delays. Construction will begin on Monday, March 18th.

Nexton's School Improvement Council is collaborating with Berkeley County School District and Berkeley County Sheriff's Office to host an Adults Only- Social Media Awareness Night. Ms. Kinlaw-Hickman will present to the group.
The meeting will be held in Nexton's Multi-Purpose Room on Thursday March 28th at 6:30pm. This presentation will last for 60-90 minutes.
The goal of the presentation is to inform adults about the newest trends and the potential dangers of certain apps on social media. There will be some very "difficult" conversations that are not appropriate for children; which is why children under 18 are not able to attend. Childcare will not be provided.

Get ready, our Spring Book Fair is just around the corner! Book Fair dates are March 18-22. Your student's teacher will let you know which day their class will specifically be shopping as a class.
Science Fair!
Remember all science fair projects are due no later than March 18th to be judged and displayed for math night on the 21st. Students may bring in their projects/display boards to their teachers beginning this week. Please do not send any perishables with your projects. Please label all projects and parts with your student's name and homeroom teacher. Projects will be judged prior to math night and displayed throughout the event. Students will be able to pick up their projects and boards the following day or at the conclusion of math night.
Our school social workers do a tremendous job supporting our students! The pearls of wisdom they provide to our school communities are invaluable. Be sure to thank a school social worker this week for the difference they make in BCSD! #SSWWeek2024 #makingapositivedifference

Students received a February Choice Board as an optional activity to complete over the long Presidents' Day Weekend. If your student completed it, please have them turn it in by Wednesday, February 21st for a prize!

We had the BEST time with our students today at the Fun Run!!! Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this amazing day possible! We have raised $38,844 towards our $40,000 goal!!! We will be having a BONUS week of pledging available to help us meet our goal!!
