CLS will conduct the Performance Task Assessment for selected students in grades 2 through 5. The outcomes of this assessment will be used to establish placements in the Gifted and Talented program. Students who have been identified have been sent letters to inform their parents about the testing schedule, which is set for February 25th to 28th. It is important to ensure that students arrive at school on time and are prepared to perform their best during the test.

Max is a student who is constantly on task and ready to learn. He is a breath of fresh air, and his willingness to learn is a teacher's dream. Max is always willing to help his peers, whether it is a small task or help with schoolwork; he is one of the first students to offer help. Fundraising is an essential part of a thriving school Performing Arts Program and that is no different at Carolyn Lewis School. In the coming semester(s), we will need funds to enhance our students' experience by providing them with exciting travel opportunities and high-level musical experiences with high level musical equipment. Money will be used for event registration fees, travel expenses, instruments and instrument repair, print music/method books, music technology and more! Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward providing the students at Carolyn Lewis School with amazing opportunities. Please consider a donation of any kind to help us reach our goal! https://verticalraise.com/fundraiser/the-arts-at-carolyn-lewis-school-fundraiser-2025/ig/0/?utm_source=url_invite&utm_medium=copy_paste&utm_campaign=invite&utm_content=paste&utm_term=main_link

CLS fourth grade will be hosting the Fourth Grade Talent Show tomorrow, 1/31 from 1:30 to 2:30! This event is a fun, optional opportunity for our students to showcase their talents as a supplement to our reading unit. If you plan to attend, please enter through the cafeteria doors and be prepared to show ID upon arrival. After the performance, fourth-grade students may be checked out, but siblings must follow their regular transportation arrangements and will not be dismissed early. We can't wait to see you there and celebrate the incredible talents of our students!

So much to celebrate! Despite the winter weather last week, Johanna Galvan and Aiden Jackson joined middle schoolers from around the state in Florence, South Carolina on January 24th and 25th for the South Carolina American Choral Director's Association's State Honor Choir! This is such a wonderful accomplishment. They did an excellent job representing CLS! We are so grateful for Mr. Nagelkirk and the support, guidance, and encouragement he gives his students to do great things!
