Mallory Bendig comes to us from Charlotte, North Carolina where she grew up playing softball and volleyball competitively at Providence High School. She brings six years of coaching experience to the Philip Simmons coaching staff.  Previously an assistance softball coach for two different programs, she has now become the head coach of the inaugural PSHS softball team.

Bendig specialized as a pitcher/first basemen.  She also played outside hitter and DS for her high school volleyball team. Her love for the sports transitioned into college through intermurals and pick-up games at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.  While in college, she become an undergraduate assistant softball coach at the local high school (Watauga High) in Boone, NC during her junior and senior years. As a first year teaching in 2011, Mallory began her softball coaching career at Ashley High School in Wilmington, NC as a pitching and hitting specialist, as well as first base coach.  She spent three years in Wilmington before moving to Charleston, SC to pursue a teaching position at Wando High School with an assistant coaching position for softball.

Coach Mallory Bendig also has her masters degree in Educational Leadership from Queens University of Charlotte.
