Boys Varsity Track, Varsity Track · IRON HORSE TRACK ATHLETES BRING HOME FIRST STATE TITLES IN SCHOOL HISTORY!


Philip Simmons High School is proud to have the first two state titles in our short existence come from the boys and girls track and field teams.

Eighth grader Najhyiai Watson brings home the state title in the 400 meter dash for the girls AA championship with a time of 57.41.

Ninth grader Noah Ward brings home the state title in the 1600 meter run for the boys AA championship with a time of 4:19.64.

We are extremely proud of our young and hard working track stars who are helping to write the history of our school’s athletic programs. Congratulations and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

The girls team finished tied for 5th overall and the boys team finished 11th overall for the combined team events. Kiamani Denmark finished 8th in the 100 and 200 meter dash while Noah Ward finished fourth in his other race , the 800 meter run. Najhyiai Watson finished in third place in her other race, the 100 meter dash. Alex Ugan took home 7th place in the 800 meter run while Elizabeth Braswell also finished 7th in the 100 meter hurdles. Ella Bachmann finished 7th place in the 400 meter hurdles. The girls 4×100 team finished in 4th place. The girls 4×400 team finished in 3rd place.
